Websites promoting acai say it tastes like berries and chocolate. I think that’s a bit of a stretch. I take acai powder everyday (I mix it in milk) and while it does have a somewhat similar taste to berries, I don’t taste “chocolate” so much. I guess if I had to describe it myself, I would say it tastes like a “dry raspberry”..meaning it isn’t a sweet tasting berry but more dry. I’m sure the frozen acai tastes much better but I don’t take that so I can’t comment on it.

Acai berry supplements were been clearly explained here. This is the first time i cleared all my doubts regarding this.

“Acai Berry” use and effect is very well explained. It removed all the queries in my mind. I like the video very much.
Going to purchase a product.

This video really busts some of the myths of Acai berry and guides nicely to the potentials of Acai berry and also warns against use of spurious Acai products which can do more harm than good. Nicely made video with an excellent voiceover. perfect acai and acai roots seem to be really good products.

I first heard about these berries on the Oprah show. It was interesting to hear more about the berries. I especially like the fact there are no known side-effects. Will look for the supplements online.

I have heard of this before, but did not know that there existed pure supplements without dangerous additives.

Its good to know that this kind of supplement is pure.. then I don’t have to worry about side effects.. I might try this acai since it is a fruit..

I have always been interested in the new supplement Acai Berry. It seems as a culture we are always looking for the next fix it all supplement. It should also be known that all supplements when taken in excess can cause strain on ones kidney’s, so one should make certain to consume the recommended amount of water; about 80-100 fl ozs.

See my response to eigenlance above. You probably won’t find 100% pure acai berry at your local grocery store – but you might. Typically, higher quality products like that will only be found in your local health food store or online. And if you do find it locally, you’ll pay more than you would online in most instances.

Acai Roots is awesome. It is THE BEST brand of acai. Visit our website for a full review of the company and their products. You mentioned allergies…if you have allergies to fruits, berries, or certain foods, you may want to check with your doctor first before taking acai since it is a fruit berry;)

You can buy acai anywhere actually. Just pay close attention to the labels. You want a product that contains one thing and one thing only – acai berry. Many products are loaded with other unnecessary ingredients. Unfortunately, these are the type of “commercial” products you’ll find locally. The advantage of buying online is that you’ll find the highest quality acai berry products available – and at much cheaper prices than you’d pay locally.

Pure acai berry supplements contain only one thing – acai berry;) The berry is just another healthy and nutritious fruit. What it has over other fruits, however, is its antioxidants and healthy fats. Unscrupulous marketers will tell you acai is a “magic weight loss” pill but don’t buy the B.S.! It’s just a nutritious fruit that you should consumer – along with other fruits and vegetables – for optimal health.

This is informative about the new hot topic — acai berries. I would really like to know more about what the actual acai berry supplements contain that you are promoting and how exactly they help out. You’ve sparked my interest in this berry, the diet, and the supplements.

Not the greatest video but very informative. Is online the only way I can buy acai? To be honest, I don’t like ordering anything online as I don’t know what I’ll be getting.

My friend once told me about these great smoothies she tried out from frozen acai which she got from Acai Roots but I was wary of adding something new to my diet as I was afraid my allergies would act up. Now that you say there are no side effects, I just might give it a shot. Now how do I determine which are the “pure acai” products as you say?
March 8th, 2010 at 11:39 am
It was very helpful. I’ve thought about trying acai but was skeptical about it. It sounded like just another fad diet. I like how you compared it with eating blueberries. That added a comical element to it. Good video.

I think you make a great point that when you take a supplement, you should make sure it’s 100% pure. Anything else, I wouldn’t buy and I would also think it’s safe to assume their might be side affects. Bravo for providing a truly pure and natural product!

There is a lot of important information in the presentation. It is good to know the negative side effects too, it is important to show benefits but it is also important to show that this could cause side effects. Very well explanied.

Can I find 100% acai berry over the counter or at my local grocery store in supplement form, with no additives at all?
March 8th, 2010 at 1:01 pm
Nope…no preservatives at all. The pulp of the acai berry is “preserved” during the freeze-drying process (or when it is frozen to be sold as frozen acai berry pulp). That’s why it’s a very nutritious supplement.

Pure acai is totally harmless (unless of course you have a fruit or berry allergy). If you decide to try it, just make sure you take a high-quality product!
March 8th, 2010 at 1:57 pm
Yes, that is exactly what the site is about – setting the record straight about acai and giving consumers a resource they can trust. Thanks!

Good question. You are correct – those multi-ingredient products are probably safe as most just contain things like caffeine, sugar, or some other herb or food extract. The side effects from these types of products will vary from person to person – and most people probably won’t experience anything. The problem with these products as you’ve mentioned is that they aren’t nearly as nutritious as pure acai berry supplements. Thanks for your question.
