If I asked you which foods tempt you, probably they would not be ones that are awfully healthy. I bet they’d be ice cream, potato chips, pizza, or something along those lines. In fact in your mind’s eye at this time as you are reading, you’re likely deliberating about a food that is unhealthy. Well, aren’t you? Stop for a second and think about it.. The point I’m going to make in this post is you can change what you covet by changing how you think. Each new buyer that comes to my office for weight loss has a craving problem. But I do not see it as a problem. I see it as a solution. Longings are over-rated. They are hodge-podge and we do not need to be controlled by them. We do not have to feel temped by ice cream, cookies or 20-ounce prime ribs. Instead, we’ll be capable of being tempted by water melon, pineapple, oranges or apples ; foods like that.
Think that sounds stupid? Well it’s not and you’ll see why. When I first sit down and talk with a client about their alkaline dieting habits, I gather everything I need to know about exactly what they eat and how they eat.
The guilty party to their weight problem always boils down to chewing, picking, eating foods that aren’t healthy or just plain over-eating.
Then I should ask them what veggies and fruit they like. I am yet to come across somebody that hates fruit or hates each plant under the sun. Ultimately I could ask them how often they eat fruits or veg and it is often a ton less frequently than the unhealthy stuff.
After I have gathered my armory of info, we do our thing. I should have my clients lay back in my recliner and close their eyes. I’m able to direct their mind to a tranquil place, and within mins they’ll be relaxed better than previously. Then I start talking about their top fruits and veg. I could ask them to fantasize taking a bite of their fave tantalizing, ripe fruit and to feel the juices tickling their tastes. I am going to say to their mind, from this time on anytime you’ve got a hungering for food, you might think about a luscious, ripe piece of fruit. And bingo!!! Next moment these are precisely the kinds of foods they start needing. Why? Because anytime you close your peepers and bring yourself to a calm, relaxed place, your comatose mind appears , and it’s this part of the mind that controls what you covet. Change your thoughts and you may change what you covet. Simple. Let’s take a look at this from another viewpoint. Shall we are saying pineapple is your favorite fruit. Now, if you were sitting with me now and I gave you a juicy hunk of it, you would like it totally.
And you’d desire more, right? Naturally.
Now, let’s imagine I put my hand into my chiller, whipped-out a little bit of chocolate cake and claimed, select one. Probably you would decide on the pineapple as you simply had a teaser-piece, which would make your consciousness wish more . The truth is this : you like your favorite fruits equally as much as you like your favourite junk food, you simply believe otherwise. Again, longings are over-rated. The mere mention of that sinful word always appears to conjures-up pictures of high calorie, greasy foods just because these are the foods you are most exposed to in our media driven world. Your subconscious gets used to this and just does not know any better. Change your minds pictures and you can change your longings. Here is a fast 5 minute psychological exercise you can begin doing now to help start revolutionizing the way you wish food. Step one : Find a cosy, quiet place where there aren’t any diversions. Begin breathing efficiently till you are quite relaxed. Next, count backwards from 10-1, slowly. With each count, imagine that your intelligence is drifting deeper and deeper. Step two : After you’ve finished counting, imagine you are relaxing by yourself in your fave place.
An isolated beach or a log in the woods will do the job. Imagine yourself feeling so terribly relaxed and relaxed. Step 3 : Next, imagine a basket full of your fave fresh picked fruit sitting right next to you. See it clearly in your mind’s eye, the colour, the feel, everything about that fruit. Imagine taking a bite of that tasty fruit and enjoying it like never before. Step 4 : Repeat the following idea to oneself ten times : from this point on, whenever I prefer to think of eating, I immediately feel a longing for fruit. Step five : Count from one to five, slowly, and when you reach 5 open your eyes.
