Okay I am really serious about ordering AcaiBerry Power 500…..It was rated #1 on the top 10 Acai supplements.I have heard you feel really good on it AND you lose like 12 lbs in 3 days.My friend tried it and lost 10 lbs in 4 days.I am about 25-35 lbs overweight btw.But I am a tad skeptical becuz they said the same thing about Curvelle and it didn’t even really work?? Please tell me Acai Berry power 500 works bery well!!

Question by Linda P: Has anyone tried the Acaiberry Power 500 tablets?
After much research, I finally ordered the 14 day free trial of Acaiberry 500. What I received was 14 tablets, with instruction to take one or two before each meal. So either I don’t really have a 14 day trial or the instructions are wrong. Also, the bottle label reads “Extreme AcaiBerry” Not Acaiberry Power 500 as shown in the ad. Can anyone tell me if these 2 products are the same and how many tablets I should be taking per day? I didn’t receive any packing slip or e-mail with instructions on who to call with questions. Can’t find any contacts on the web.

Also, has anyone who has used these tablets tell me something about the weight loss properties?

I’d like to hear from people who have actually used this product. I know about the terms of this contract and about healthy eating and exercise to lose weight. I just need an answer from someone who has experienced this product, either for it’s health properties or weight loss claims, before my trial is over.

These pills are of course useless. There is only ONE way to lose weight, a reduced calorie healthy diet and vigorous daily exercise.

How is a consumer to know that an Acai supplement might be filled with Malodextrin when the FDA does not require it be listed on the label? Finally, how does the consumer know how much magnesium stearate, rice and other fillers and flowing agents are in the Acai product they are taking?” states Nessel.

The Power Supplements study concludes that the best way to shop for Acai products is to study the label and ask the manufacturer questions. Acai supplements that are freeze dried, organic, made only from skin and pulp (no Acai seeds), contain no other ingredients and clearly state the amount of Acai per serving are you best bet. “Customers should not be afraid to pick up the phone and call the manufacturer and asks questions,” said Dan Nessel. “If a company does not want to tell you exactly what is in their Acai product – that is a good sign to move on to another company that is more open and honest.” states Nessel.

The acai berry has gained widespread popularity as a powerful antioxidant with an ORAC number much higher than other fruits and vegetables, also considered valuable antioxidants.

Firstly, what is an antioxidant?

When it achieves this, an unstable molecule becomes stable once more, after a series of chain reactions started by the free radicals during normal body activity. This is where the antioxidants, and specifically the acai berry given its very high ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) number, play their key role.
As a polyphenol the acai berry has a very high capacity to act as an antioxidant to mop up those free radicals which can be so destructive to cells in our bodies. As an anthocyanin the acai berry belongs to the sub-group of over 4,000 flavonoids identified in nature and considered to be a very important for health and wellness.

For example, raspberries and cranberries are rich in pelargonidin, while cherries are rich in peonidin and cyanidin.
Only blueberries and bilberries seem to have all the above anthocyanins, while acai berries have these and more.
These berries get their intense colour from cyanidin, a special version of the anthocyanin, after it is formed from the colourless leucocyanidin during a key process called the Kreb’s cycle.
The double bond is the key
Many commentators highlight the benefits of mono- or polyunsaturated fats when it comes to a healthy diet, and this is linked to the greater stability of the structure of these fats compared to saturated fats, as in butter.
They are ideal for absorbing the highly reactive free radicals produced as part of our normal body functions, because they possess what are called double bonds, which is why they are called unsaturated.
The polyphenolic anthocyanins in the acai berry also have these double bonds which are available to help soak up the dangerous free radicals which hunt for the nearest electron to satisfy their need for stability.
In clinical terms, the free radicals cause long term damage to our body tissues and organs, with aging being one of the more common symptoms.
So when you consider that around 50 per cent of the acai berry consists of fat, of which three quarters is mono- and polyunsaturated essential fatty acids in the form of Omega 3, 6 and 9 oils, and add this to the potent effect of the anthocyanins, it helps to explain why this berry is such a powerful  antioxidant.
